cfmoto piston valves timing chain pic!!!!! help please

cf moto engine
here more pics of the timing chain piston and valves.
the guy I brought from said it was the timing chain but I don't see anything wrong with it. when I got to the piston it had water in the piston casing. so I sucked it all out. the valves looks like they are okay to but what do you guys think? |

The second pic shows clearly the valves have hit the piston. You need to disassemble the valves and springs to see the damage done to the valves, but I would order a set before you go any further.
Is the first pic with the crank at the timing mark? If it is, the timing is definitely off. The 2 marks on the cam sprocket should be level with the plane of the cylinder head. Again, need to find the culprit before you go any further, otherwise you might be doing this again. Please don't 'shotgun' repair, as they get costly when you guess.

ok I checked the tensioners and they seemed to be ok, I don't know what else to check or do?

when I adjust the cam sprocket can I do that without it connected to the chain or to it connected to the chain. if so how?

I checked the valves and they were ok......i reset the timing chain cam sprocket.. i have it extremely close. Or does it have to be perfect?

How did you check the valves? I would be very surprised that the one that hit did not bend a little. Best way to check it is to poor gas or paint thinner into the ports and see if any leaks past the valves. If it does you have a bent valve.

From looking at your pic it appears the valve indeed hit the piston, if the tensioner was still installed your chain is stretched, and ditto pour some fuel thinner or like down the ports making sure not to spill outside of port then lift head to view chamber side of valves to see if any fluid leaks. I would also put a strait edge across the head to check for warpage. More then .003" the head should be shaved. And as long as your in the engine check the rings as well.
