Default Carbide 7150 No Tranny

I got a Carbide given to me but all the transmission parts are gone. i look up the part's and it going to cost me 350.00 for them. Now my question is should i pay the 350.00 or can i get one of those external transmission and use that? here is a pic's of the Carbide now that it will be getting nice out I would like to get her up and running.

I don't know if it will work or not, but i have an internal reverse engine sitting in pieces in the basement with a bad piston/jug. It's the twin sprocket style as used in the baja reaction and a couple other buggies. I've sort of been planning on doing a bbk on it and selling it as a complete unit but would probably let it go if it would work for you. DK if it's the same on the trans or not.

for that price you can about buy the whole engine on ebay or a good used one on here.

If the $350 is all you would have in it you're still coming out with a great deal!!! I agree with Zman, if you do have to spend that amount, you should look for another engine, that way your engine could be for spares! but if someone has what you need for cheap, go for it! either way, nice deal already, price wise!!!

I have to agree, buying a used engine would be better in several aspects. Few of us are familiar enough with the internals to be able to pick out every little part you need to rebuild that unit. If you got the engine from X, then you might be able to move the cylinder from yours over to his. I was not expecting to see the trans apart like that when I read the title. I wonder what they were chasing

FWIW, internal reverse i have is not going to work. doesn't match to your picture at all. mine is likely an early version.

i have a 2010 hammerhead 150cc engine with internal reverse i am willing to let go for $200 its been on the bench for a couple of years as a back up. i originally dis assembled it, and re assembled it to learn more about the engines. i ran it in my old buugy for a while before doing a franken build on it. i will also throw in an A9 camshaft. i dont need these since im buggyless now. if your interested i can post some pics on this thread.
