Runs Flawless for 10 minutes then acts like the plug fouled and/or detonation.
I have cleaned the carb 4 times. run with and without the pump. turned the air screw from 1 to 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 to 2 and 2 1/2 with the same result. I have no tools for compression or leak down. I know I can rent compression. |

Most compression testers have a hose that has a quick connect air fitting on one end and the other end threads into the spark plug hole. You can use this hose to do a leak down test. You will need plugs for the intake and exhaust and an air compressor with regulator. Piston at bottom of the stroke and run no more than 6-8psi.

one area to look into is the entire fuel system from tank to the carb to make sure there isn't any debris that is shifting and blocking the supply once the fuel starts flowing. Likewise, fuel cap vent and if it has a vacuum petcock, those are worth checking to make sure they still function correctly.

Stock carb is a 32. People change them all the time thinking they will run better and in some cases they will, but personally I'm partial to the stock 32 Keihin. You can jet them in your sleep and when in good condition they preform very well.
