Baja 150 reaction problem
Hi I am new to this website and to go karts. I got this reaction for 200 bucks. It had no spark so I got a new spark plug, cdi box, and coil. It got spark. So I clean out the carb and put in a new battery and when I start it I have to have the throttle down a little for it to run. If I put the throttle down to hard it stops. If I let It go it stops. I noticed that there is smoke coming from I think the gearbox. I touched it and it was very hot. I don't know what to do anymore. Can someone help?

Welcome Bajaman! have you checked your valve clearances yet, to see if they are right? usually .003 intake & .005 exhaust. also take the gearbox cover off, and see whats up there when it's running! this would just be the first things I'd check.

sounds like the auto choke might not be working

well I set intake to .003 and .005 exhaust and it will go now but it wont idle and there is still smoke coming from the valve and timing chain cover. im thinking of buying a new auto choke for the idle part. I don't know what to do about the heat from the cover.

the plastic covers on the engine are actually ductwork for the air-cooling system. they may have a lot of debris up in them. I'd remove them and check what's under them and clean between all the fins on the head/jug.

Well I cleaned the covers and fins and the engine is a little more cooler. It still gets pretty hot
