Got the ASW Carbide today.
Finally, we got the ASW Carbide today. I was told it has the 1500lb spring and a K&M(r) clutch. Dont know the roller weights but I was given a brand new set of 10.5 gr rollers. It does have the Uni filter and carb was rejetted. I dont know, yet, the size of jets. The speedometer does not work and it is one a seperate on/off/start switch from a motorcycle. Also has a manual choke.
It started right up with no issues and the owner took it up the driveway. We have a gravel/dirt driveway to leads a dirt road. It seemed to take off very well with him. Brought it back and parked it as the wife and I had other chores to do. New pics to follow tomorrow. Oh, one other question. The Carolina Panthers logo on the front has been clear coated over. Any idea on how to get that off without screwing up the paint? Last edited by RacingDreamz; 05-21-2015 at 08:52 PM. |

caliper's probably sticking. sometimes the e-brakes don't retract well on these, they drag, heat up and the brakes clamp on and hang. Had the same problem with the wife's reaction.
Paint thinner soaked rag and gentle rubbing to dissolve the clear (tedious) followed by heat gun to soften the sticker, followed by ultra fine wet sand and re-clearing to blend in. you may still end up with the sticker outline. |

took apart caliper, cleaned the piston, lubed the o-rings. e-brake is likely the type with 3 ball bearings in between dimpled plates with an arm on the backside of the caliper that rotates the plates to drive the caliper piston. cleaned and regreased the plates and bearings. Set the e-brake to jut grab enough when fully applied.
