is a bolt missing?shift rod crossfire 150R
Is a bolt missing from the hole in the first pic? the threads in it looks very clean as if it did have one or a set screw. I am thinking it fell out and has let the shifter rod which goes inside the transmission to raise up which caused the reverse cable to break. It wouldn't budge and I broke the cable trying to shift to reverse. If you have one of these and can give me an answer or post some pics of it I would appreciate it very much. Also is the shifter against the bolt in my pics the same as yours? thanks zman

If it's a pin that holds the shift rod in place, you should be able to stick a screwdriver in there and tell. See if there's a groove that a pin would fit into, then lift up on the shift rod.

its not a pin, if you look close at the 1st pic you can see the threads in the hole.

Maybe threaded at the top but not at the bottom.

yea its prob. not I just need to know if anyone else that has one of these could look at theirs and see if it sticks up and bumps against that other bolt, and if it has a bolt or set screw.

The rod rotates when the cable pulls it so I would think it can't get locked down with a bolt or a set screw.
I wouldn't think you shouldn't be able to lift it by hand either, that's why I think there might be a groove. Imaging a bolt that only threads in far enough to catch the groove to keep the rod from lifting but not so far that it would stop it from rotating. Easy enough to check, just stick a screw driver in there and see if you can lift the rod. The screw driver would catch the groove and keep the rod from lifting. |

I understand that, and appreciate what you are saying, but what I am asking is others that may own one of these, is there a bolt there on theirs and if their shift arm is raised up,bumping against that bolt like mine is and also is the shifter arm also over the top of that bolt that is under neath mine.

It would be great if someone posted up pictures of theirs, but all your questions could be answered in less time then it took you to post the question...lol

I jacked up the rear of the cart and put on jack stands. I can not get the shifter to move at all, even with a pair of channel locks. sooooooo I think what happened is the bolt fell out the shaft raised up and now it won't go back down even when I tapped on it with a hammer and flat punch. I need a breakdown of this transmission. The crossfire 150 is not the same and is all I have been able to find so far.

Looking at your pictures it seems the cable would line up perfectly. Doesn't look too high.
Did you try rocking the wheels forward and back while trying to shift? |

yea I tried rocking it to no avail. even with the channel locks on. that's why I would love to see a break down of the inside of the reverse box. I even cranked it and let it run a little bit and tried moving it then. still no luck. I am wondering what that bolt with the slotted head underneath the shifter is. it has a jam nut on it.

No clue what that is. It looks just like the adjuster for a worm gear steering box, like on an old chevy.

yea Liduno that is what it looks like. I figured maybe it is to take play out of the shifter shaft.
