Noob cart rebuild - what do i need?
Hi guys
Im new to the go cart world... I bought a small 50cc twister jr cart for my 5 year old son, but motor mount bolts fell out and when my wife went to pull string start it, she ripped the housing in half - lol Instead of putting another 50cc motor in it, I would like to put a 212cc harbor freight predator motor in it (that way we should be able to keep up with the other two go carts that we have - a yerfdog gy6, and a manco subaru 126 I have read online a little bit from people that have done this conversion. I know i have to weld some plates to the frame to bolt the motor to. I have come across this listing on ebay called the Torq-a-verter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Go-Kart-Torq...item19f1677e17 If I use this, do I need to use a jackshaft? or can I just run a chain to a sprocket on the axle? |

there is already a secondary or driven pulley shaft built in to that.the secondary should have a sprocket that will chain drive the axle.
