Default How hot does the variator get?

I've been off work a couple days with a bad bout of diverticulitis.
I felt like doing something yesterday, so I began foolong around with variator weights.
I put in some 10 gram sliders and went for a short test ride. Just around the pasture, up a hill, and a short sprint down the road. I wasn't that crazy about the change, so when I got back, I was going to change weights, and the variator was extremely hot, too hot to handle.
Is that normal, or have I made some kind of error reinstalling it?

Make sure you have the sliders in correctly. With the buggy up on jack stands and cvt cover off run the engine in drive and make sure the belt rises to top on variator and belt on clutch drops all the way down on pulley, than let off gas and make sure belt drops fully down on variator and is riding fully up on clutch. If you installed the sliders on a stock variator which is designed foe rollers your 10 gm. sliders are going to act like 8 gm. rollers. If your filter on cvt is not plunged the cvt should run around 180-190 degrees. Those numbers are for the stock variator and clutch.

Thank s. I'll try it again when I'm up and around again. This diverticulitis has me down for a while so I've had to take it easy for a few days. Had a ct scan this morning and I won't hear from it til next week.
I wouldn't wish this crap on my worst enemy!

Hope all goes well for you. Never had it but knew someone with it and it can be extremely painful.
