Finished up the lighting

I pulled the trigger on a 20 inch led light bar for the buggy last week and it arrived yeasterday while I was cleaning the garage. So I busted into it and started the install right away. I had to fab up some brackets out of angle steel I had in the garage. I used my drill press to put holes in the bracket for the light bar mounting bolt and a second that used the roll cage assembly bolts to mount to buggy. I know welding is better but I have not learned to weld well yet. Wired it up to the fog lamp circuit and we were in business. Alnong with the led headlights I put on last year night driving should be no trouble. The light went so well I decided to install the new yellow spring and belt I had for the transmission as well. I ran into some trouble and had to go buy a 1.5 inch socket so I could remove the flat nut without destroying it. And compressing the yellow spring to get the new belt on proved to be a 2 person job. But it went back together and ran well. I did notice I need a new clutch as the pads had cracks in them so I will get some rollers and a clutch next.

Does look nice. I'm just not sure about mounting lights on top of roll cage. Just for simple fact I don't want them damaged incase of roll over. Guess could always weld a roll bar over top of lights to protect. Anyone do that before?

What's the wattage on the light bar? I've been looking on ebay but it's hard to see on there how bright they are.

On the east coast ,with heavily wooded tight trails, tree limbs whipping against top mount lights beat them up pretty bad. They could almost be considered a expendable item. Sooner or later their going to get busted up. It's worth the time to Fab some sort of guard around the lights to protect the investment.

for the 26 bucks the light cost I am not too worried if it has to be replaced if an accident occurs.

I just hooked mine to the fog light circuit so good ole on off. so far so good. did some evening carting in the woods and they lit the woods up very well. I put a battery tender on the battery between uses just in case the cart cannot keep up with the charging needs. better to be safe than sorry I figure.

Just got a light bar in this week. Gotta fab up a mounting system and get them wired. I plan to wire mine into the "high - beams" circuit. Don't really need it on all the time.

Finally got to try my light bar out last night. The diffefence is unbelievable! I stole Len's mounting idea. Mine are wired into the switch for the brights, and going from dim to bright is like day and night, literally!
