NW Washington Newbie
new guy here, just picked up a couple Karts first ones a X machine 125 China, other ones a Murray 6.5 Briggs , Murray runs great, X machine no go, cant figure out the wiring and the kick start was froze and doesn't seem to engage,
looking for help getting it running or Ill pull the engine out and sell it , also have a mower with a 17.5 HP OHV Briggs that would be cool to put in the X-machine , so whose got a vertical shaft engine in their buggy? Welcome aboard, the addiction has already set in I see! LOL
Setting up a vertical shaft engine involves more complexity and fab than it's likely worth in order to change the drive run 90 degrees, sell the tractor and engine and use it for buggy funds! I'd take the cvt cover off the 125/150 and take a look at the clutch and variator, something might have come apart and jammed up in there, pretty simple. |

Welcome to the addiction!! Can't say I've ever heard of an X Machine. Single seat with the GY6 engine. I would not replace that engine with a Briggs. The GY6 will produce more power cheaper than the Briggs. That X Machine has an electric start so I would first check that the engine is not frozen and it will turn over.

That is a Kasea 125 which had a kick starter with the exhaust routed to the right. Gary Carter at Pro Wheel Racing in Granite Falls used to work for the company and may be able to give you more background on the buggy.
3729 Menzel Lake Road Granite Falls, WA 360-691-6459 I don't see any ignition wiring, CDI or rectifier. You can go to "Buggy Depot dot com" and follow their wiring diagram in the tech section or order a Yerf-dog harness and any missing components from their site. The Yerf's had the simplest wiring which is why I am referring you to them. The GY6 motor in your Kasea will run without a battery and rectifier, but you will be reliant on the kick starter and have no lighting if you omit those parts. Without an intake track and air filter on the carburetor, it will not run well but should attempt to start once you have the ignition wired up. |

its alive !!!!!,everything seems to work, runs and idles, the clutch engages and the belt gears up and the pulleys move, found a few broken wires and the on off switch was installed upside down so it said on when it was off, so it runs now , reminds me of the Honda ATC 110 3-wheelers I grew up with it sounds the same, I still have a couple of those Honda engines wonder if any of the parts interchange , so now to go over everything and get it ready to ride, eventually Ill weld in a few more steel tubes looks like 1" x .090 , also Im 6' so id like to move the pedals forward in front of the steering
