Popping sound out ehaust lean or rich.
Hi.
When I get in it a bit I get popping out of exhaust, is that lean or rich? Other than spark plug how do yo tell lean vs rich?

Guang Max 150 All stock but to be like Buggy 1 with all koso cvt. Roketa 150 Complete tear down building port/polished 61mm NCY head, 62mm cylinder, A12 Cam, 28mm carb, straight through exhaust, 8 pole stator, possibly 2.5 stroker, painting frame, adding plastic including doors and rzr seats. |

I hear it both ways... though if the popping sounds if it's carb it's likely to be lean, exhaust likely to be rich. Plug is the only way I know w/something w/o fuel injection. I'd read the plug from a WOT pull, and change the main to eliminate WOT lean, then adjust the mixing valve for in-between. If you're off on that, it seems to affect everything from idle, to going on/off WOT.

I'm guessing it's popping when you let off the throttle and not just any time?
It can be caused by a few things. Lean mixture, exhaust leak, and timing are the top things that come to mind. On these I kinda doubt it's timing. |
