2005 HH150 bringing her back from the dead
Ok so gonna give a full run down on my buggy. keep in mind this is my first buggy and I do not know a lot about them but have been learning.
2005 HH 150 standard Picked up at the beginning of winter in non running condition PO said it had electrical issue that he couldn't figure out Initial problems Wire harness badly damaged by PO trying to figure out issue and sun damaged from sitting in AZ sun nothing in the front works back looks like chopped spaghetti. All dash board switches including key switch are shot Motor would crank but no spark unknown condition/age of all fluids tires in bad shape breaks don't work Master cylinder shot no battery seats shredded and wood rotted (frames are ok though) This thing has been a journey First I changed the engine oil and ordered a new CDI, coil and plug for it Then after a lot of help from people on another forum (some of them are members here too lol) I was able to figure out that the pick up coil was bad so I put a new stator in rigged a stand alone ignition wire set up and after a failed carb was replaced she fired up and was running ok for the most part. Winter and work set in and slowed me down a lot but I am slowly making progress on getting her back to where she should be What im working on right now In the process of building a complete new wire harness New tubes for tires will be here Friday(stop gap until I can afford new tires) New master cylinder will be here Friday. Things on the to do list in no particular order New LED lights to include adding a 12" light bar New tires all the way around Build a new dash and replace all switches new electrical box New seats Check and adjust clearance on valves 12g sliders for variator yellow contra spring Change gear oil strip and paint frame port head port match intake and exhaust Further down the road I want to do a BBK and I think the 155cc kit is the only drop in kit that doesn't require milling the case. I will post updates/questions as I complete things and restore this poor old girl to her former glory |
