Bringing old buggy back to life- shift question
I was just given a helix 150 that was parked many years ago. Fixed carb and now idles well. I originally could not get it to shift into gears but found how to do it. The issue now is that it shifts into reverse when in drive and drive when it isi reverse. Original owner says it was like that when he got it. My ADD will it allow me to operate this way. What is needed. I follow steps and diagrams well if anyone can tell me what to do to fix this. It works fine as is but drives me crazy knowing it is wrong.-thanks in advance-Clampett5

Got a picture of the reverse setup?
From memory reverse was optional on these. Kinda sounds like somebody might have added or fixed a reverse using a mix match of parts. |

I figured it out. Some assclown hooked up the linkage backwards so the cables went to the wrong side. Small victory. Now if I can only get this linkage adjusted correctly cause it either wants Drive only or reverse only. Grrr

Forgive my ignorance, but are you sure there is a neutral? None of the Chinese buggies I've owned had a neutral.

The newer buggies with internal reverse have a neutral which is most buggies made after 2010.

Glad you figured it out. If you go to the American Landmaster site you can download the complete service manual which is an excellent manual.
