Clutch Engagement RPM
I have verified from the engineering dept. at ASW-Ft Wayne, the engagement RPM of the stock clutcharm springs is 2900-3100 RPM. This is for ASW models 6150 Helix and 7150 Carbide.
I am ordering upgrades to try a lower RPM engagement to see if it will be smoother. Will advise results. Winterbuggy |

There may be a chance you would fry the clutch trying to engage at lower rpms. The buggy may not move forwards until it has developed enough power. you might not have enough hp at lower rpms. It might put a strain on the clutch. I am just guessing here.... This is a interesting idea though, most raise rpm engagement to promote better take off power. Let us know how it works.

Look at some of our buggy vids at http://www.youtube.com/buggymasters and see how they sound compared to yours in the engagement section.

Good idea - I checked them out and saw that on every one, the engine got loud after the kart started moving. Not so on mine.
My new springs just came in - will let you know. Thanks, Winterbuggy |
