Used TM XRS 150 in IL won’t stay running
My kid and I are new to the buggy game. We have a trailmaster 150. The previous owner changed the carburetor last year. It ran well last summer and then after sitting through the winter it became difficult to start.
We emptied and cleaned the gas tank and line. We changed the spark plug and air filter. It will start (with some difficulty) with some ether in the carb and the throttle held open it’ll run, but as soon as you release the throttle to idle it dies. I can’t tell if it is the carb or the choke. Thanks for the help. |

If your problem is only with warmed up engine than suspect the enrichment valve. Not wanting to idle tells me you probably need to soak the carb using Berryman carb dip. Sounds like the idle jet or circuit is plugged. You should only use non ethanol fuel. Fuel with ethanol is a waste of money, uses 1/4 more energy to blend ethanol fuel than strait fuel, produces 1/3 less power and the gas will turn bad in 3 weeks unless kept in an air tight system.
