Please always wear your safety gear
This is just a friendly reminder to always wear your helmets and seat belts when you ride as they could save your life. Tonight I put mine to the test. I went out for a short ride with my wife & youngest daughter, after a short while we decided to head to some different trails and I opened up my 350 in front of them, and went around corner about 60 mph, and the next thing I know I am flying through the air. I am not sure how many times it rolled but when it came to a stop, I was facing the opposite direction and was 25-30 feet from where the tire tracks ended. I had 3 flat tires, a broken left front fender & it smashed the heck out of the plate on the top of the roll bar.
My helmet hit the roll bar supports several times during the roll over and about knocked me senseless. I have a small head ache, a very sore neck, & back and my right leg has a pretty good bruise where it hit the console. If I had not been wearing my safety gear I may not be here to tell this story, so please guys always wear yours, no matter how careful you think you might be. left front tire left rear tire right rear tire left front fender roll bar plate |

Wow..glad you're ok!
You now see why the Odyssey requires some respect and also why they are considered one of the best built machines ever. I'm willing to be that it will start up. |

Thanks, It did start right back up and unfortunately we were a place I couldn't get my truck to, so I had to drive it out with the 3 flats.
The crazy thing is I have blasted around that same turn many times with out any problems, so I am still not sure what really happened?? The only thing different was I had just mounted up 2 new front tires on it yesterday before we rode. I guess it was just time to test the roll bar. |

Man oh man ! you really did a number on that one. The roof panel looks like you did a dance on it! well, at least your all right and still have your sense of humor. You must of popped a bead. Don't forget we don't rebound from those hits like we used to. You mentioned a sore neck, try using a neck collar. They can be had at most any cycle suppy that carries motocross stuff. That helmet is heavy and getting slung around like that really snaps the neck around. The collar supports the helmet and takes the stress off your neck. You would be surprised at how much less fatigued you feel after a ride from not using back and neck muscles to hold your head up.

Thanks I will defiantly go buy a neck brace for my daughter and I before the next outing. I pulled the top plate off the roll bar today and it looks like I bent the crap out of the right front of the cage as well as put a pretty good bow in the front down bar on that side. I had to pull it up 7/16 to get it back square. I am nt really sure how to take the bow out of the down bar with out denting it with my press so I may just have to live with it so I don't cause more damage than I fix trying to straighten it. I also started welding on the broken fender but didn't have any plasic rod so it is just tacked together until I can find some plastic to finish it up. It seems there is never a dull moment around here lately. |
