exhaust stud broke off in head...
I was removing my exhaust today and while I was turning one of the bolts, the head broke off leaving 1/4'' of bolt sticking out of the head. I was wondering if I could use heat on the stud to maybe loosen it up and try using vice grips to try and turn it out? I've used this method before on other things but never on a cylinder head. I'll be removing the head before trying and I really don't want to have to drill and tap because it would be so easy to mess up and drill too far using a drill press. Also all of my tap and die sets are SAE so i would have a metric and a sae bolt holding the exhaust up.

a new head is like $50 wouldn't a machine shop charge more than that?
