on my helix the speedometer was at 52.3 do you think it would be lying? the thing gets its speed from a magnet on the wheel hub that spins like crazy. THen shoots the waves to the speedometer to tell the speed. yea its
weird

Where did you get the speedo from? I can tell you that the one on the Carbide is definately not correct. i ran it against my GPS and it reads pretty high.

I had an aftermarket one that would allow you to program it that was much more accurate.

I got it from an old speed bike at home.it shows the date, time ,and temp. also. but i just cant tell if its right or wrong. i'm thinking that its 5mph faster than the real speed, but who knows that helix has been modded quite a bit.
the air intake system was a huge difference, about 15% power increase

tip

dont tighten the suspension too much( it beats on the kart really bad)cage keeps getting loose and wheeles

The air intake system also requires a HEAVY rejet in these things. Having a UNI on took my requirement from a 140 main to a 150.

That thing will go boom if you keep it in there too long. From the factory, these things run lean and in stock form really need to be replaced with a 128 main jet. You really need to take yours out, and take it to your local motorcycle dealer to get a replacement. What all mods have you done to yours? Based on that I can give you an idea of what you should be using for a jet.

I just got a Carbide to day and keep hearing about having to rejet the engine that comes with ASW karts. Why and how do you do it?

Well the way you are supposed to do it is take a new plug and make a few wide open passes on it and then pull it and look at it. If you can, post a pic of what you see.

Yeah I have a Carbide and I run a 136 main jet.Thats with a uni intake and other mods.I ran the 136 main with just the uni filter and it worked well.If you want to unlock your Carbides power get rid of the stock air intake and put on a uni filter.I could not believe the difference it made.

i think it has to do with the air

the air in indiana is more thin (more oxagen)
the air down south is more hard to breath (thicker in co2)
