Default 3.5 briggs and stratton

My go kart has the 3.5 Briggs and stratton. It has the wind vane governor. Does anyone know how to adjust it to go faster? Can I just remove the Vane?

On briggs engines, you can usually just re-route the throttle cable direct to the throttle arm.

You have to get a cable holddown (looks like an upside down U) and use a self tapping screw to hold it into the cover that is part of your pullstart (secure it to the top of it). That will hold your cable in place and then you connect the cable directly to the throttle control on the carburetor. You simply bypass the governor assembley.
