BuggyMasters Review: YerfDog 3206 Spiderbox
Before you is one of the earliest mini buggies there is. Although Yerf Dog is no longer in business (making parts difficult to some) this was probably the best go cart or mini buggy they ever put out. Powered by a Howhitt 150cc cloned GY6, some of these are considered the best to have. I can't verify it myself but it is rumored that some of these have a forged bottom end making them a serious contendor for a solid build up. The major downside? No reverse which kills it for many people. Otherwise these are pretty cool machines with a unique design. Others have also commented that the front end on these may be weak but they sure are a major improvement over anything else Yerf Dog ever put out. Besides the lack of reverse, the gearing on these is very short with a top speed of just 28mph which allows it to get spanked by just about any other mini buggy out there. The ride isn't very good at all when compared to any of the more modern machines but again the best Yerf Dog ever made. Pros: Good looking machine that ran very well. Cons: No reverse. Short gears. Lack of parts. BuggyMasters Overall Rating: 5 out of 10. I really liked this machine and the Howhitt engine was excellent but the suspension was not good, the top end was not good, and there was no reverse. On |

The yerf does have a weak front end and will break everytime you push it beyond it's limits. The damage that we have seen first hand at some of the rallies is extreme to say the least.
Complete front end break away Spindles ripped and torn off balljoints and tie rod ends blown out taking parts of the meta platel with it. Shocks bent. You might think this is really bad, right? WRONG! The yerf dog is the easiest buggy to rebuild and mod it's suspension. At the last 2 National rallies a dog fell victim to the trails and the big rocks, and both were repaired with a welder and some parts bought right off the shelf at lowes and tractor supply. Once repairs were complete these buggies were back inb the game running better then ever.

It's design keeps it's weight down, but you lose strenght. The dogs are very quick buggies and with a few bucks it will smoke most 150's with similar mods.

Yup. any cvt or carb mods you put in a yerf will work better simply because it's much lighter then all the other buggies.

Looks really like the YD is becoming a "Cult" buggy, with a distinct following. While it would be great to buy a new 3206, every part is still available, including complete frames!
Being they are so cheap, and easy to repair, look even easier to mod and improve, I'm betting they will be around for a long time. At least with the guys that know how to turn a wrench. I finally found one, and I'm continuing the search for severral more.... it's a Lays tater chip sorta thing.
