Default Large cooling shroud

Anyone seen cooling shrouds for the bigger displacement gy6's? I've hacked the hell out of mine to make it fit the 4V head/BBK.. Thinking of maybe getting a new bigger shroud while I have the motor out this winter..

yeah, that's what I was thinking. I've had to due some serious hacking because the intake and exhaust is moved up a bit, plus the head is way taller, so I had to open up the top of the shroud too.. Not a big deal I guess, the plastic is pretty cheap.

still haven't heard back from any dealers about large cooling shrouds. I'll probably go with a oil cooler in any case, because I'm starting to get the itch to go up another size on the jug and maybe add a little more stroke too...

I do. The trailtech vapor is the bomb.

If I remember correctly the Trailmaster engines cannot use the stoker kit. I believe Tom told me that before.

Any idea why that is? Is the crankcase on the internal reverse motor smaller in some way?

The crank used in all the newer gy6 buggies is different in that the kick start gear is no longer used. Due to the internal reverse the clutch sets further in the case, the bevel on the crank used for the kick start gear has been cut back so the variator sets further in the case as well. Because of this the spline on end of crank for the outer cooling pulley is longer. The new cranks also use different size bearings on each side. The bearings are not a big problem since with the special tools they can be changed but the longer spline is the problem. Haven't found a machine shop anywhere who can cut deeper spline since they are metric. Can have a stroked crank made in China or Taiwan but minimum is 100 pieces with promise for more. One other note on the newer engines is cranks are no longer available for the new style internal reverse engines for some strange reason. I have checked with ASW, HH, Kandi, and Trail Master and they cannot even order them for they are not available anymore. Nobody can tell me why but I suspect the GY6 engine in the buggy probably will not be able to pass the EPA in a few years and will eventually have to be fazed out in the US market.
