Default Howhit 150cc reverse problems

I have a Howhit 150cc w/internal reverse that has started acting up. When I switch from forward to reverse it stays in reverse. If you roll it or give it a little gas it will go backwards and then slam into forward. I have also noted that when you start it it starts to move while idling. If in forward it rolls forward or if started in reverse it starts moving in reverse while idling. It never did this before.

Any suggestions on what to look for or try?

you may be idling to fast slow your motor down. if this does not cure it adjust the cable

There are a couple different types of reverse assemblies. I can't remember what is on the Howhit. I am thinking they may be internal. Any chance to take a picture of yours?

If yours is internal check to make sure you have enough lube in it. Most people assume its OK when they purchase the buggy. I have gotten new buggies in with little to no fluid.

Yes, it is internal. How do I check the lube? I checked the gear lube...is that the same?

Yes its the level plug on the right rear of engine. With buggy level remove plug and fluid should be level with bottom of threads.
