Default Two part question

Part one:
I am having sooooo much trouble getting the bolt that holds the clutch off!!! Ive tried a ratchet, and an air hammer, and a penetrating lube. None of them are working. How do I get it off with out stripping the bolt?

Part two:
What is that flat head screw at the very bottom of the carb in the second pic?

For the nut on the clutch, have you tried having a 2nd person hold the clutch bell still while you use the ratchet or impact wrench? A strap wrench works well for this. Also, a longer piece of pipe put down over the handle of the ratchet will give you more leverage to work with. These nuts are tight for a reason: you don't want them coming loose and falling off!

In the 2nd picture, that screw is the bowl drain screw. It will allow the gas in the float bowl at the bottom of the carburetor to drain out through the tube that is right there. If you open it with the fuel lines hooked up and gas flow to the carb turned on, you're going to be leaking out the fuel from your whole tank onto the ground. Keep that screw in the closed position unless you need to open it!

I finally for the freakin bolt off, but it wasn't in one piece I had to hack saw part of it off to relieve some of the pressure. It will be a pain to find another one

Is that the nut that holds the clutch bell on? Or should I say WAS that the nut.

No worries, just get a replacement at a hardware store. Some of them are a real chore to deal with. A good air driven impact wrench makes short work of it.

Yes, that was the nut that held the clutch on. I checked a bunch of hardware stores. All of them have the right size nut, but the threads were not right. Ill go to a speciality hardware store tomorrow that I know has it, finish reassembling everything, and post an "official" review.

I had one like that as well. No fun. Fortunately for me I had to put an order in for a bunch of other parts so I got one of those.

What all mods did you wind up getting?

Just look at my signature. I ended up getting just what Mike suggested. I got the 10 gram sliders, 1500RPM main spring, and the air performance package #1, which includes a Uni filter, velocity stack, and two main jets, a 125 and a 130. I put the 130 main jet in there. Do you think think the 130 will be okay with the Uni?

That's where I would start. Make sure you have a new/clean spark plug and then do a couple high speed passes and check it and see how it looks.

keep in mind that the float bowl drain is a good way to see if the carb is getting gas. if ur kart ever stalls out again or wont start, first thing i would do is pull that drain, if gas comes out, then you have a bigger problem lol
