ENGINE position - help
Hello guys.
Im writing a project about gokart in my school. I have a problem with engine position on the chassis. Actually the question is "what are the advantages and disadvantages of placing engine on the left side on the chassis". Can anybody help my ? Its very important... Please share your knowledge. Greetings |

If the driver is on the right side the motor would balance it. If the driver is in the middle and a large fuel cell is on the left it would balance. If you you were running circle track it might help to be a little heavy on that side. Most of the time it's done slightly to the left to line up a tranny sproket with a center spool

most of the time on a one wheel drive the engine will be on the left and two wheel drive will be on the right.

Thanks guys
 very muchI just needed an idea, what should I write about and this idea of the balance was good fundament. Its a projekt about that type of cart  Maybe you know more technical thinks about advantages and disadvantages of left/right/front/back engine placement.... ??

Gotta remember that most of those karts are set up for circle track. The seat is offset for the sake of balance and also general physics of the kart itself. In that form, you can keep a nice tight configuration. If you compare it to having the engine in the rear, the rear mounted setup lengthens your wheelbase which affects your handling.
