My trailmaster rear wheel bearings crapped out with probably less than 10 miles on them.. Saying that, I ride HARD.. I replaced the stock ones with VXB bearings i think.. Two years of relentless beatings and they haven't failed yet.. You could FEEL the click, click, click when you rolled the buggy with your hand on the axle.. The trailmaster has been a good buggy, but i think the bearings are crappy..

curious did u replace the bearings ? I thought u said you ordered them? almost sounds like a gear clicking

Yeah replaced both bearings. Jacked it up on stands and figured I'd chase the noise down turning by hand. Doesn't make that noise when jacked up so figuring maybe the first bearing I replaced bad again. Changed it out still noise. I loosen the chain a bit and it goes away. The chain came kinda tight from factory and assumed that's how it's suppo to be. I hope I didn't trash that bearing on the output shaft the sprocket goes on. I got about an inch of play in the chain now and no clicking.

At center of chain between sprockets you should be able to lightly push down on chain, or up about 3/8" to 1/2". On most buggies you will get a clicking if chain is too tight. Never really checked in to as why.

the chain could have also stretched if it was to tight, just keep an eye on it as you don't want to have some play on the the chain like sycarms said

if the chain was that tight, it could have been pulling the brake calipher against the piston, that is if you have rear brakes. also would have caused your bearings to wear out prematurely.

Yeah I know said to check the chain but I figured it was supposed to be that tight since it came set up like that. It also never made that noise either. That clicking though never did sound like coming from the chain. Who knows. I'm learning and thanks for all the replies on hear trying to help me out.

I know on mine which has the external reverse the chain cannot be too tight for it will click and if too tight will actually cause the rear wheels to hop when accelerated. Others like mine, I have seen tight without a problem. I would not rule out another problem just yet. Keep an eye on it.
