Default gy6 150cc external reverse box

Does anybody know how much grease is need and what type is best for the lube inside the reverse gearbox? Thanks for the help

I don't know what lube is needed (other than something super thick) but I do know that the inside needs to be COATED everywhere. As the gearbox pops open easily, I opened mine and WOW everything was covered in lots of it. So copious amounts are needed. I would contact Tom at SYC Powwersports and see what he thinks and what he has.

I use lithium grease and pump it til its about to puke!

Thanks for the info Gentlemen. I appreciate the help. When I pulled mine apart it had some lube that appeared to be standard wheel bearing type of grease but I was surprised that there wasn't more in there. Do you know if the seal ring is redily available? The existing one looks okay but I am a firm believer in keeping fresh seals whenever possible, especially since we live out here in the desert.

I'd check with Tom @ Sycpowersports, he deals with the external reverses alot!

I know the feeling, I finally got my red buggy squared away(still gotta get a new battery), but now I'm kinda dragging my feet on my blue one cause its been so frustrating!!!
