CFMoto vs CN250?

In thinking about the few 250's I have had, it seemed to me that the one with the CFMoto engine on it had significant seat of the pants more power compared to the coolster which had the CN250 on it.a

Is a CFMoto just another cloned CN250 or are they a different engine all together like 4-valve heads or something?

the biggest diff is the tranny, the cf takes a bigger clutch and has l/h/n/r. seems I do remeber the head is a little diff also, along with the cam.

Are they supposed to be rated a higher HP? In comparing the two that I have owned, the CFMoto was noticeable faster. Of course it was pretty new and the stator went out on it so it may not be as good quality...or maybe I got a lemon.

horsepower is pretty close on each. the tranny gearing makes the biggest differance

I've got one of each, and they both top out at about the same point in overall speed. They aren't even modded the same and get this result.

The main difference is in the low end gearing - the CN250 just won't go up stuff like the CFMoto can.

And when I get my new tires on the Joyner.... Oh yes....

They are really nice. VERY comfortable ride, but are a bit heavier than the average 250cc.

I like that they are solid, even if it's a bit heavier because of it. Only thing I've broken on it is the drive belt, and that was my fault (put too big of tires on it...) Otherwise I've been very happy with it.

Like most of the top quality products in any field, it pretty much gets down to splitting hairs and personal preference.

I can't comment either way on the others in the Joyner's class (Hammerhead, Kinroad, Carter) because I have not driven any of them.

All I know is got mine for a great price and have been very happy with it!

For a new Joyner 250 CFMoto (Hi-Lo forward gearing)? $3500-4000+? Ask Bige, he sells them

Used you can get one for $1500-2500. Mine was $1800 used and a steal at that price.

Does anyone know if the cn250 engine assembly will fit in the Helix buggy?

It is not a bolt in swap. You will need to fabricate new engine mounts so the sprockets align and build a radiator location.

P.S. I did try the dial-a-jet, and it does exactly what they claim.
