Default Roketa GK-06 grinding noise (video)

Hi all. I'm the proud new owner of a 2008 Roketa 250cc buggy.

We took it out this weekend and had a blast with it. By the third day it was making this grinding sound while starting, and when being turned off. I suspect it's the starter (one of the kids may have held the ignition too long on the starts) but I've never owned a small engine so this is new territory for me. But I like learning!

I made a video and uploaded it to YouTube. If any of you out there who are much smarter than me can point me in the direction to look first I'd appreciate it. Thanks for any help or advice!

Did not hear a grinding noise but it sounds as if the starter is getting weak.

Thanks. Maybe grinding was the wrong word. I pulled the starter. It seemed a little hard to turn. Think that may be the problem. I'll see when they new one gets here....
