Default Gear Change Linkage 150cc to 450r

I have a Baja dune 150 and decided to make some changes. The engine on it was blown by the previous owner and I really didn't won't to trash the buggy. I'm wanting to build on to the rear end pod and place in a 450r quad engine. My question is what kind of linkage could I make to switch gears? The motor will be bouncing from the suspension and it would be hard to make any stationary linkages. Would I have build it from the frame or the pod?

you can run a heavy duty cable. making a solid type linkage would require a moving pivot point in the linkage in-line with the swingarm pivots.

Cable would be the cheapest, easiest, and most reliable.

You want to spend some money and get fancy you can get linear actuators and momentary switches to have a push button.
