Default Bd hd ball joints

I got no instructions with these. I have small washer inside the a arm hole and the large washers on each side of joint. I read about a punch mark that needs to be oriented a certain way. does this still apply?

Thanks

W

I know it applied on mine. See if you can find any install instructions on their website.

They emailed them to me. I recd nothing but joints in box.
There is a "tick mark" that has to face forward.

Could you post a pic of said tick mark?

Or forward the instructions?

I have the ball joints as well and was unaware there were instructions, lol.

here it is

-- Remove old joints
1. Unbolt spindles from ball joints. Leave tie-rods attached.
2. Remove C-clips using removal tool, or needle nose pliers. Remove ball joints from A-Arm.

-- Install new joints
1. Remove the nut from the top of the ball joint, remove the top silver bushing.
2. Insert the top of the joint into the A-Arm hole. The golden bushing should now be located inside of the A-Arm hole and the bottom silver bushing supporting the A-Arm flange from below.
3. Replace the upper silver washer and nut to the ball joint assembly. Do not tighten yet.
4. Find the round tick mark on the ball joint body. Face the tick mark forward, pointing away from the rest of the buggy. Tighten the nut now.
5. Repeat for each joint.
6. Bolt spindles to the ball joints.

Note: The mounting flanges of the spindles must be positioned below the flanges of the A-Arms.

Note: Sometimes joints will come with two tick marks, one on both sides of the joint. Either tick mark facing the front is fine.

The balls are crimped into the cups. if you do not align the punch marks on the cup, you have less travel available before the ball contacts the cup.
