What is a used TrailMaster 300 XRX worth?

Some of you may have read my tribulations with the TM300XRX but when working, it's a very fun family buggy.

If you search TM300XRX you'll find plenty new for sale for $3,500 to $3,800. That doesn't include possible tax (between 200 - 300) nor drop shipping ($400 for me). All in all, 4,400 is what I spent to buy. I won't even get into costs for small engine guys to help with issues from factory.

The price hasn't changed much but I no longer need this buggy. You can't find decent go karts let alone buggies in my state. I had to go 2 states away for my first kart which does add some rarity to a built, maintained and well performing buggy.

If all in I purchased this for 4400 and it's about the same if you buy it still drop shipped unassembled, how much should I sell mine for assembled by pros with 37 hours on the motor?

The condition is about a 9 out of 10. The tires were mostly driven on cement wearing them down a bit. Otherwise it's maintained to the second and ready for 10 hours of fun (the max between oil changes). Everything works.

Any realistic ideas on resale value?

Wish I could give you a number. Our "Chinabuggys" don't hold their value at all unfortunately. Maybe this will change once more people come to realize that they aren't all junk, that parts and upgrades are available, that they CAN be fixed and maintained...
In fact, if I hadn't found this forum and a few other sites, I probably wouldn't have even bought ours. Too many horror stories on the internet.
It's also going to vary a lot depending on location as well. You may as well ask what you'd like to get for it and be ready to negotiate and educate your potential buyers. You may find that you'd be just as well keeping it.

I have two things working for me.

One you already mentioned, Chinese buggies are laden with initial issues (as mine was). So it's nice to go see one fully operational before buying a 650lb metal crate where you have no idea if anything will be a problem.

Second, I live in RI. We have gobs of ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, etc, but almost no go kart shops to be found. And the shops that do mix in a few karts rack up the price or only sell really small kid karts. I had to go to New Hampshire (2 states away) to find a quality dealer for my first China kart (kandi) and even with them building it, it has issues. So finding a kart or buggy for sale in or near RI, especially in Spring, is very very rare.

I hope to get around 2500 for it. That's less than half what I have into it between the purchase price (4k back 18 months ago), 280 in tax and 400 to ship plus 15 hours of small engine labor time to get it running correct.

I'd obviously like to get more but any lower and yes, this very light used buggy is just staying with me. Let people order thieir own nightmares and roux the day.
