Default Crossfire 150 with kawasaki vucan 500 motor

Newbie to the forum. So I got this crossfire 150 buggy for 250 bucks. It was a complete buggy. The motor however didn't run. It was pretty beat. I had a buggie similar to this one and It really didn't have enough power. But I really like this one so I desired to put a vucan 500 motor on it that I have. I am changing the ass end. Taking out the swing arm and making a solid frame for the engine. Building a set of trailing arms for independent rear suspension. I'm going to use the stock axle sisnce it's pretty thick. However I will be cutting it down and machining it so I can use the factory bearings. FEEDBACK AND IDEAS ARE WELCOME!!!!!

I plan on using dirtbike front forks for rear shocks. not sure if it will work but its trial and error. this is my first build like this. ive built sand rails but this is a little different. but like i said as soon as i can get some pics up i will. let me now when those pics are up buggymike. maybe i could learn a thing or to off of you lol

Really like what your doin with this Crossfires are the best! Pretty neat how you built the engine cradle out of the rollcage bars. I want to do a full dash similar to yours with a analog gps speedometer. What are you going to use for cvaxles? Are you going to try and put reverse on it?

I would like reverse but I dont know if I will have it. The only way I thought about putting reverse on is with the reverse setup from a trike motorcycle. As for axles I'm use weasler yoke and tube assembly from tractor supply. I am using the stock axle for the drive axle but I cut it down. Found a set of pillow block bearings that fit. The only issue I have is the back is going to be pretty wide.

Thanks Beefking.....believe it or not those rings on the wheel are motorcycle brake rotors some dude gave to me. I had no idea what to do with them or what bike they would have fit. So I cut the center out and welded them the the wheel.

Default Pic

Pic of part of the drive axle. Using 1 7/8" pillow block bearings. Pressed bearing onto main axle. Took an old subaru wheel bearing and pressed it apart. Took the peice that the car wheel bolts to and cut it so all that was left was the splines. Pressed that into the other side of the pillow block bearing. Need to shorten the CV axles yet. Hopefully within the next month I will be able to test out the driveable.

Default Pics. Changed drive axle idea

So went to the scrap yard yesterday to see if there was anything worth salvaging. Found a nice quad rolling chassis. Engine included. So I took in some scrap I had lying around and was able to trade the scrap for the quad. Cut the swing arm and desided to use the carrier bearing assembly for drive axle. Also lucked out and was able to use front spindles. Now I have front brakes as welll. I would call that a score.

Default Pic of the right side axle.

I cut and shortened the axle. Half chevy cavalier and half subaru. That's what the CV axles were out of.
