Default Helix 150cc Ground Clearance

I just picked up a 2008 Helix 150cc for $200 that needs TLC...It doesn't run but the compression is good...It is a winter project for myself and my boys...I have a question about tires and ground clearance...

Tires...Is there a larger tire that I can run instead of the stock 17x7-8 and 18x9.5-8?...Could I run a 18x9.5-8 in the front and 20x10-8 in the rear without any issues?...I have been looking at making some longer a-arms that would help gain some extra tire clearance when turning...I know that tie-rods would also need to be made longer too...

Ground clearance...By extending the a-arms out and making longer tie-rods could I put longer shocks on the front and gain 2"-3" of clearance???...In the rear I could add longer shocks but what else could I do to gain some extra clearance???...I know the larger tires will gain me 1"-2" and I am hoping the shocks could gain me another 1"-2"...

Thanks for any and all info!!!
