Default 5 point harness seatbelt help?

which 5 point harness seatbelts do you guys like using? looking for a setup for herbie way to many options to choose from. Never tried the 3 inch wide, I am curious in feel of 2 inch wide vs 3 inch wide. Never used a camlock or hook style, kinda prefer buckle? or talk me out of it? Cant decide which route to go. Found this pretty cheap.

either of those will work, camlocks maybe be a little easier to hook up but a good camlock belt is expensive and the cheap ones wont hold up well in offroad conditions. the hook style holds up fine but will get stiff if not wd-40'd once in a while. i used crow belts in the race car because they came in purple and they were bought through speedway. i use them in the 400 now.
as far as 2" vs 3".....in the race car 3" is a must for impacts, a 2" would tend to dig in more, although one time i wrecked so bad i had to massive 3" wide hickeys on both shoulders. in a buggy an issue it's a matter of what is more comfortable, i still use 3", they bother my wife so i use 2" in hers.

Ditto to JD.
Though I've seen the cam locks jam when getting a lap full of mud, I have not had that problem with the latch/lock system. Both require a little maintenance to keep them working properly. I prefer the latch/lock because it will incorporate the wrist restraints into the lock system which allows for quick release verses the restraints being connected to the steering column or elsewhere. It defeats the purpose of fast exit if you have to disconnect the wrist restraints along with the belt. The latch locks totally cut you free with a tug on the release strap.
2 verses 3 inch is matter of preference. 3 inch spreads the load a little better but can be difficult for smaller children. Either can bruise you pretty good in a violent toss but you walk away and that's the purpose.

Mounting points are critical for safety, functionality and comfort. The shoulder strap are mounted below shoulder height. 12 inches is good. The lap belt should lay across the lap below the hip bone not around the waist. the crotch strap should pull forwards not down. The crotch strap keeps the buckle positioned low in the lap when the shoulder straps are tightened. The system should pull you down in the seat not against the back of the seat.
As a rule of thumb the belts are tighten down hard to the point of being slightly uncomfortable. If your butt bone hurts, the lap belt is not tight enough, your still bouncing in the seat. The same with the shoulder, if you feel tugging or discomfort, tighten the belt. After some seat time you get used to it and don't notice. You have to learn to relax and let the belts do the work. At first you have a tendency to fight the system by the natural tendency to counteract the pitch and lean of the buggy. but after you relax and " go with the flow" it becomes a whole new and enjoyable experience. You'll feel the suspension work, the chassis flex, the tires bite along with a feeling of security and confidence. It's amazing to discover just how much of a beating you've had to endure in the past by just being tossed around in the seat

ty for the advice ckau and jd. Ckau you mentioned the bottom mounting point should be mounted forward and not down? any advice where to mount that last one?

Don't waste your money on the BMI belts. I would not trust anything that relies on plastic latches to hold you in. The cam lock is more suited for cars where mud won't be a factor. The latch lock work great. I will WD-40 the small spring loaded catch after every ride. I use the 3" only because I did not realize the Jr. dragster 2" would be large enough for an adult. The 3" will chafe the skin if wearing a tank top shirt bur a set of pads remedy that. The 2" are all that's needed and will be more comfortable over the 3" especially if wearing a tank top. I attach the sub belt using the cross brace under the seat. You will want to drill a hole through the tubing which will weaken the tubing so you will also need to insert a metal bushing through the drilled hole and weld top and bottom. I use a 7/16" grade 8 shouldered bolt to fasten.
