Need help!!
hey i have a carter talon 150cc. the top end mph is like 41mph, which is great, but i need to beat out a carter interceptor gtr250. which has a top end of about 49mph. please help me out here guys ive already got all the normal mods covered: uni filter, 32mm carb, variator, rollers, belt, clutch and bell, custom intake, spark plug, cdi, coil...and a few more. i dont have a camshaft though or any custom gearing setup...any advice? (i need to be pullin about 55mph at top speed)

If you don't mind sacrificing some more low end torque, you could change up the gear on the axel, but thats a lot of buggy you have to take apart. I'm not sure where you could buy one of these, but I think there is someone on this forum that had done this, but he put a larger gear on it for some serious low end.

I have a gtr 300, and I gps'ed it at 35mph. the speedo said 48. are those speeds with a gps? the factory speedo on the gtr's are about 5-8 mph fast. unless that gtr has had a speed kit ( larger top sprocket )
My wifes 150 will gps at 42 mph at 10,320 rpm |

Upgrade the exhaust? And if you want to get the real benefit of the 32mm carb you should be running a big bore kit with that exhaust.
Also, an A9 or A10 cam should get you some more top end.

okay gotcha
cool these are all great things to hear, and the gtr's speed was on the factory speedo. i gps'd mine at about 41. but that's bone stock. what do yall think is about the VERY top speed i could get this little beast up to?

Ya know, BigE is right. I broke my NAV before I was able to do a top speed run on my GTR but I don't think you'll get 49 mph out of it. The speedo is not accurate on them.
