Joyner 650ss CV swap - has anyone done it?
I am looking at using the rear suspension off of a Joyner 650 SS for The Yerf project I am planning (I have all of the parts). However, I would like to get away from the stock axles and CVs. I am looking at using VW CVs. I would have to start with a set of Joyner axles, then cut off the stub axle and the inner splined section. Weld the parts from the Joyner axle to VW CV "cups". I could then use VW CVs and get axles of just about any length. I was brain storming with my dad yesterday about it (how to square it in the lathe, etc.) However, I don't like to reinvent the wheel.
Has anyone done anything similar to this and if so, can you point me in the right direction. Thanks P.S. If anyone has any blown Joyner axles, they would like to part with, let me know. I have a good set, but I hate to hack up good units for this mod. I would rather use some with blown CVs, and if it works I can find a good home for my axles.
