Default Air box filling up with oil????

I have a HH250 that runs well, but the air box is filling up with oil. Im sure it coming from the blow by tube but I dont really know why. Could it be rings or something? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

have you done a compression test on the engine? i removed my box and put a uni-filter on it but i still have that breather tube zip tied to the cross bar and a filter in the end of it. there is a black plastic valve that the tube goes to on the engine. i'm not sure what purpose that serves but maybe it's not working correctly.....???

I think the problem was that I was running without the filter temporarily and too much air was being pulled causing it to suck the oil into the air box. Disconnected the blow by tube from the air box and the problem went away.

Thanks for the input!!

How long was it between the last time you looked at it and the time when you noticed it was collecting oil?

I just bought it Friday. It had been neglected. Got it cheep!! I got it home and changed all the fluids and did maintenance on everything I could. Had to let the kids ride it before I got the new air filter. The problem quit after that. Im pretty sure with no filters it was pulling too much air and sucking the oil in from the blow by tubes. It seems to be ok now. Now on to having fun with it and the Carter 150 talon I bought with it.

Thanks for the help!!
