Default Carter 250 GTR Engine temp light

I've been having trouble with the engine temperature light always being on on my buggy. Literally almost all the time. It'll come on within seconds of starting the engine. We went through the service bulletin for the temperature sensor and changed over the wires, but the problem is still there. We cleaned up one of the grounds, and it's still there. We flushed the cooling system out twice, and it's still there. We're reasonably sure it's not the engine actually getting hot, and that it's a wiring problem, but it's still something you don't want to take a chance on.
Can anyone suggest what may be causing the problem, and possible solutions? Also, we've got a temperature gun to check the temp on the engine, so does anyone know what the operating temp should be for the engine?

have you tried changing your temp sensor. it may be your problem. it's just a simple switch completing the circuit and may have corrosion inside making it stay on all the time.

When my fan run all the time it run about 150 to 185 deg depending on ambient temp and humidity. With the fan cycling it will run 170 to 195 deg depending on temp and humidity. These temps are from running it long and hard temps are anywhere from 85 t0 100 deg. I also foung better performance and efficiency when the fan cycles rather then on all the time. These engines run best at 170 to 190 deg.
