Kevlar belts??
Are all 30 series belts kevlar? Pix makes them but the price is the same as any other belt. Our 9.0hp subaru without the gov. is destroying belts. I'm looking for a true kevlar belt......something more durable. I thought I saw one for $88 but can't remember who made it??? Anyone??

i am afraid of kevlar belts
they can eat your variator or clutch if you get out of adjustment if i burn up a newer belt i prefer to solve the problem olderthan

I believe the problem is too much engine for the clutch / belt. This ex27 subaru is ungoverned and it will not bog.....too much torque.....so the belt has no choice but to spin & slip I guess. On the road with 20" rear tires, gps was in the high 40's if not 50 mph. The belt doesn't like that.

i was not saying kevlar belts are bad in all apps
they are very strong but i get up to a year on a $13.00 or so belt or find out i had a problem to fix when my son was little he had a odesay[ mis-spelled word] that we had to run a kevlar belt on olderthan

Is it putting it to pieces?
See if this guy here can verify that the belt is kevlar and if it is, who makes it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=230457017239 I suspect that without the governor, the engine is spinning fast enough to raise the belt out of the operating range. |

The cogs are still there but the string like material begins to appear from the belt sides and collects in the cover. The cover also has a great deal of "belt dust" inside it. It's a 1" bore tav2 with 6" driven pulley.......belt #203589A or #5959. We ran a brand new #5959 on Easter Sunday and the next day the belt was noticeably narrower and seriously stretched. It was removed from the cart WITHOUT removing either clutch to get it off.
