Roketa gk-28 performance exhaust wanted.
Hey guys, I am new to mini buggy world and I am in need of an aftermarket performance exhaust for my buggy.
It is a SLGK 160 or Roketa GK-28 it has the (2) bolt valve cover. I recently bought the Hammerhead Stage 1 upgrade.....but the header pipe had a different angle than the exhaust bolt pattern. I spent many hours milling and machining an adapter for it but......to no avail I could not make a good acceptable match. Is there anyone out there that can direct me to a supplier for the buggy. I have searched long and hard on the internet for such a header pipe or complete system with no success. Is the new product from MRP for the Sahara a match? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the stock pipe on order now......but would really like to up grade. The Hammerhead works great on my Twister and is a great power gain along with the velocity stack ,aluminum intake and K&N filter. I had to re-jet the carb to a main jet of 40 and pilot to 135. I have never run into the problem your having with your exhaust. The headder should mount the same on either the A or B serirs GY6. It may be the difference in your frame that keeps you from mounting the hammerhead exhaust. The MRP will be the same as the hammerhead since it works on hammerhead as well as kinroad. You may try going with the stock headder along with an FMF slip on muffler.

The exhaust port has been oriented differently on every 2-bolt B GY6 I have seen verses the more common 4-bolt A version. I have not seen a performance header for the B engine, but a local shop should be able to bend you a 1" header for about $50 and you can choose your preferred muffler.

Thank you bot for the replies I received
The (2) bolt valve cover version of the GY6 150known more commonly as the "B" version at least by the research I have done to date. The bolt pattern is @ 8-17 degrees counterclockwise from standard GY6 version "A" as viewed from above with stock muffler system placed on floor. As I stated @ an earlier post on another forum "I have fabricated a 6061 aircraft aluminum bar stock into a close but not perfect adapter. Problem was and still is,the patterns are SOOOOOO close that you can not place the NEW pattern in the adapter close enough (without) encroaching the original holes in the adapter for a proper seal and the exhaust still hits the rear drive axle. Bending the S?Steel header from Hammerhead does not seem to be a practical solution for me. I guess it would be a good choice for someone like Hammerhead or MRP to fill the void for the consumers. But be that as it may, I do enjoy fabricating various requested parts for those in need. Redfishlost |
