As mentioned in the other Hammerhead 150 review, these use a slightly different powerplant than the earlier ones. The electrical box on these is horizontally mounted. They do add some cool new features in the SS model. It carries beautiful and light weight aluminum wheels, a speedometer, a speaker system to run your MP3 through and a few other additions. I have to admit, the speakers system was pretty cool. If you go to our video section at
http://www.youtube.com/buggymasters you can see these in action.
Despite all of the add ons, for some reason the powerplant on the newer ones is not as potent as what we found on the earlier ones. In fact, in a drag race between the Carbide and HH 150 SS, the carbide spanked it all the way until the end where the top end capabilities of the SS became evident. Overall though this is a very nice machine. These newer ones should have pretty easy parts availablity as at the time of this writing, they are still making them. Can't comment on the pricing.
Pros: Very well built machine. Cool features.
Cons: Not as potent a powerplant as the earlier ones.
BuggyMasters Overall Rating: 7 out of 10
The performance advantage of the earlier ones is why it is rated one nothc lower.
