Carb vacuum connections
Just trying to figure out if i've got everything hooked up correctly ..... cant' find pics or info on the vacuum hose routing. descriptions are as viewed from the rear of the buggy. '07 Carter 150 2 bolt head.
I have it set up as follows; breather port in the valve cover goes to the port on the base of the carb on the left side (lowest port) Port on the left side of the plastic/rubber intake elbow to the air cut valve on the right side Port on the left side of the carb just above the starter plunger valve is connected to Nothing ....??? as to where this one should route to. No idea if i have these routed correctly. TIA for any input. |

The above diagram verifies that i have the intake elbow to air cut valve correct.
I have a cone filter on it (no airbox) so the other ports that fed to the original airbox are still a question for me. |

I leave those open
However i do not have my valve cover going to my carb. It also depends if you have a vacoom fuel pump or not. My gy6 i do not . |

I've got 3 "open" hoses. one off the carb, one off the valve cover, one off the transmission.
I put a small gas filter on the ones off the carb and valve cover, I don't like the idea of an open path to either. The one to the trans does not worry me. I marked the end of the filter with a black pen to show it was supposed to be not connected on that end. I also used clear hose to see if anything was going in or out. |

Those are vent hoses and go nowhere.

Thanks;
I guess i'm venting to vents lol. I was thinking the one off the valve cover functioned like a pcv/breather and was supposed to feed back into the carb. that would've been lovely if it had started sucking oil on me. ))) So 2 on the carb, 1 on the valve cover and 1 on the tranny are all just vents. I spent about an hour yesterday digging up hoses, futzing with little locking rings and connecting them all. lol thanks guys, that's one deal off the "to figure out" list |

Actually the newer buggies are required by epa to run all vents to airbox, I guess their genius minds figure it better to burn the fumes then to let them go to atmosphere. Connecting them will suck the oil when driven hard as well as hurt performance since these were made to run off fuel and not oil. The older buggies had them all running to atmosphere.

I was going to mention the EPA ... but it's sunday ....
I think they have Co2 and Nox sensing drones circling my house waiting for the bird to pull out of the garage followed by the tanker truck of 93 octane. |

Oh yes the clean air police. Many thought the commercial run a couple years back during the super bowl was ammusing. I believe that it won't be long unil that becomes reality.
