Default Helix Rear shocks and carb clearance

so I put a new carb with a 2.75" riser on it and not the carb is hitting the gas tank when the suspension bottoms out. I have the tank mounted as high as it can go without relocating.

For now my best idea is to put longer shocks on the back. After some reading I am looking at some 16" eye to eye shocks for a 400EX

Has anyone run longer shocks in the rear and/or any foreseen problems running a longer shock?

Dose anyone know of a better rear shock solution for around 100$?
