Default Hello from TN

Just wanted to introduce myself here in the forums. My name is Mike and Santa got my two girls a used Carbide 150 for Christmas (thanks in no small part to a lot of legwork and haggling from yours truly).

It's an amazing little machine, to be sure, but I am starting to suspect it was treated mean and may require some TLC to get to an optimal state of performance.

I have done some searching around about karting and was gratified to find a community like this-- full of cool, genuinely helpful people. Honestly, lurking these forums is what solidified my decision to go ahead and get the Carbide as I knew I could get a little help and good advice if I needed it.

So here's to a great community and I am looking forward to being a part of it. Busy today but the first of likely many "noob" questions will be coming in the next couple of days...

Thanks. I just picked that avatar about 3 days ago. I couldn't resist. Guess I'm showing my age.

Welcome to BM. These buggies need TLC just about on a continual basis. one thing that even i knew but sort of skipped on recently was to make sure to shut off the fuel line and run the buggy til it used all the gas in the carb. My wife's just succumbed to "won't idle" or run blues because i let it sit with the fuel in the tank and carb for about two months. I'd wager 60 percent or more of the questions from new owners of used buggies relate to stale ethanol gas gumming up the works.

tra la la ...speed buggy rocks lol
