Default Possibilities for a new engine

Hey guys,

Im new to this forum, and i have just got a first buggy. In very nice condition, it has a CF250 engine, a honda clone i believe. Just wondering, when the time comes, would it be possible to replace the clone with an actual bike motor of the same size, preferably a 250cc honda road bike engine with this engines ignition? Are there any problems with size or would a new CVT have to be installed?

Also, would the honda 250 have more or less power than the standard motor?

Regards,

Josh

Welcome Josh.

A bike motor (motorcycle) usually has the transmission built into the cases, so the CVT is not nedded.

It will not be a bolt on thing, but with modification you CAN make it work. It would have more "percieved" power than the motor on your buggy because of the transmission. You would have more gear choices to ride in as opposed to the CVT which shifts automatically.

There are many guys that have done engine swaps now that have took pics and posted their problems and solutions along the way if you do a search and want to see what's all involved.
