Default GY6 150cc will not stay running

Hey anyone please help, I just purchased a used 2007 Roketa gk-o1 150cc buggy at least that's what I believe it is, it was running the day I looked at it to buy, When I got it home it would not start...I replaced the cdi with a performance one along with the coil because I had no spark, change the plug also...Now I have to hold the gas peddle about 3/4 down to get it started and about 3 seconds in it will die on me, I cleaned the jets, carb, and gas tank.also replace the choke on carb or plunger what ever you call it and same thing.Checked the valves the gap on them now is .0019mm on both approx...the spark plug I gapped at 0.6mm seems small to me but that's what it called for. Also checked the stator spark and really couldn't tell how good spark was need to wait until night I guess...Can anyone help me please on what may be the issue here I am new to all this...I'll attach pics of the new and old cdi also..Thanks

Have (or had) that same problem.....my buggy is bone stock.

I went to clean my carb last night.....the main jet cleaned up real fine (still gonna replace it). But the pilot.....that was a little harder, and I suspect I still didn't clean it very well. The pilot jet has a very small hole down....and you need a VERY fine wire to get the gunk out of it. I used a stiff wire from my steel wire brush of all things....and finally after using a hand drill to spin the pilot jet I got it cleaned out (atleast to get it to run).

I am getting new jets tomorrow and I am going to also look at the electric choke, as that may be part of my issue too.

In my case, the buggy has been sitting for 5 years with a blown motor.....so the carb was REALLY dirty!! Heck, I may end up just buying a new carb for $40 or so.

As far as your CDI......the CDI you bought looks like an AC, which is common....You may however need a DC CDI (not so common). ON your plugs.....you have a 4 wire and 2 wire plug. On a DC set up.....the 2 wire plug will only have 1 wire.

I'm somewhat new with buggies....but old with finding info on the net and am an old time motor head. From what I am reading.....I believe my info is correct on the CDI thing.

I cleaned the carb like 4 times. Buggy would start and stall, sat for about 3 months before this.. I finally broke down and purchased a new carb and buggy has rand great ever since. My advice is it's worth the money to buy a new carb.. Thanks for your imput it is appreciated and buy that new carb you'll be glad you did..
