Default Floorpan?

I posted this on another forum but didn't get a response.

I want to put a pan on the bottom of the chassis. What is the recommended material and thickness. Steel is real heavy and aluminum is expensive. I plan to add floor boards on top of the chassis in the cockpit but don't want the frame to get hung up on rocks and stumps.
Any ideas?

I'll have to look and measure what is on our little 150cc but I'd say it would be fine. Steel would be ok if thin enough. Not like you are going to go 1/4 inch thick.

18, 20 or 22 would all be fine, jsut depends on how strong you want vs how heavy. Or weld on a couple tabs with holes and bolt plywood in.

we are going to put expanded metal on the top and cover it with vinyl diamond plate.
