Default Buying guide for kids buggy?

Hi there,
I'm looking for a used buggy for my 2 kids aged 7 and 10. I've read the buying guide posted as a sticky and I imagine much of the info also applies to kid buggies. Just wondering if there are specific brands to look for or avoid and anything else I need to consider when looking at used kid sized buggies?
Thanks
K

Sharing here, I bought a 150cc buggy for my 2 boys ages 9 and 11, went looking first hand and got one with adjustable seat so I can even drive it!
(I'm 5'9")

Good luck buying one, and also full face helmets and 5 point harness for safety.
Teach them to strap in tightly every time.

Welcome to the site.

I would look into the 150cc buggies. They might be slightly bigger then the "kids" versions, but they can grow into them. Plus you can use it. They normally come with a lot of good features. The adjustable seat mentioned above ^^^^^ is a good idea.

I would prob avoid a Yerf Dog. They are decent buggies and many of us on here (myself included) have them and like them. However, they really need to be upgraded/reinforced to make them trail worthy and safe.

Any buggy that is still being made would be a good idea as getting parts for it can become an issue sometimes.

I second the suggestion about getting a 150. Flat out built better.

I have to say though that last year we had one of the 125cc jeep looking buggies with the 3-speed semi auto trans and that thing was a super fun little machine. BUT...like many of the smaller buggies the engine was directly behind the seats but there wasnt enough air flow to keep it cool. The 150's have an on board cooling system that is a fantastic design and that is just one of many reasons why a 150 is a better choice.

Yep, 150cc. Kids, and adults can use them. I'm 5'11'', at 240 lbs, and I enjoy giving the kids a good ride with it. Son is getting pretty good in it, so really have no more excuses to drive it, other than I enjoy going out with it by my self. . My kids are 8 and 11. They love the thing. It's a yerf dog. and as said before, need to mod it, and put some time, and money into to make it a worth while buggy. Fun never the less.
Haven't looked lately, but New ones, with 2 seater are not that bad of a price. And if you can find one just a few years old, and get the priced knocked down, Id jump on it. Been looking for another 150cc myself, if can get a really good price for it. Few friends are interested in them now, since I built mine.
