Default Belt issue

Went trail riding with the helix yesterday. Was doing alot better with the new updates (10g rollers, 1500 spring, CDI no rev, coil, and 125# jet) But after riding it for about 30 minutes the belt went into shreds. Didn't even look like a belt. Not sure what happen or why. Belt had proble 70 hours on it. Was this do to being old or the upgrades. Should I have upgraded belt to? Any suggestions?

If you go with the 10g it is certainly going to put a bit more stress on the belt. How old is the machine?

Also if your cvt cover still has the rubber boot on it take it of and use the clam and clamp a scotch brite pad in place of the rubber boot. This will allow for better airflow as well as you will be able to see when it need cleaned.

You will be just fine with the standard Gates Powerlink 743-20-30 Belt.

this is how to modify your cvt intake- i use a folded washcloth & wash yearly or you can use a scotch brite pad

I don't see a belt adding any thing extra.
