Default Need Help with Disabled Son Recommendation

Hello all. My son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He will lose the ability to walk by the age of 12 and die in his 20's. He is 6 now and short. He will probably not be able to ride a bike. I want to get him something that he can use to hang with and out run the other kids on the bikes. That is how I found out about gokarts. Anyway, I need help finding one for a 6 year old to use in the neighborhood. Again, he is short. It would be awesome if it wasn't really loud because of complaints from neighbors. I really don't care about price because our time is limited.

Gas powered vehicles are very restricted in neighborhoods. Have you considered an electric vehicle that uses parts off a golf kart? Remember that buggies may be difficult to climb in and out with physical disabilities - A side by side type frame may be better. Have you seen the Polaris RZR 170? It is a small side by side. If one of these was converted to electric, it would be great kid transport.

There are some go karts that have hand controls. Seems to me I saw a Matchbox go kart that had hand controls but do a google search for "Go Kart Hand Controls" and see what that gets you.
